We agree on the date

Tuesday 5th (or 5/5/09 whoever is writing it)

Another day of solid work. I am working on the raw data automatic filtering and downhole calculations. Once this is working we will try to interface with a live feed. I set up a meeting with the Schlumberger experts for Thursday.

I have also finally got my email working at the office. Incoming was OK from the start but I couldn't send any out. After some fairly long conversations with 2 different support people, a solution was found. I could send email via the web browser but it involved about 5 steps rather than just clicking on Reply.

Lunch today was at a Mexican restaurant near the mall. An aproriate choice for Cinco deMayp, which is the Mexican independence day equivalent. 6 of us piled into Ramon's Aviator which is a fairly up market people mover - leather seats etc. the restaurant was of course part of a chin, but the food was good, a big burrito with steak, rice, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, cheese and lettuce. It is also common in restaurants here to be able to refill your cup from the soda fountain. Since you can refill as often as you like, I'm not sure why they need to sell 2 sizes of drinks, and why anyone would pay extra for the larger cup.

The photo is of the office building and car park showing a couple of the big trucks. There are 10 cubicles where the engineers work in a large room at the back of the office.

Tonight I just stayed in and had a couple of toasted sandwiches. It was also a chance to put the sheets and towels through the wash.

You may remember reading in my Thai blog that I popped a button on my pants after landing at the airport. I found thebutton and sewed it back on. However, when I went to put them on a few days ago, I discovered I'd sewed it on the inside by mistake. Duh!
